Year 2009 - Starting with a new hope

As a new year of 2009 begins I have some hopes for this year.
Hope 1: Let India get to see a year without bomb blasts and terrorist attacks. After the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, no place is safe in India. You never know what will happen next and where it'll happen.
Hope 2: May India not succumb to economic recession. Let middle class people working in private sectors have their job secured.
Hope 3: May the General Election brings out young leaders with clean thoughts. India should get a prime minister for whom all Indians, wherever they are, be proud of.
Hope 4: May West Bengal somehow get rid of non-constructive callous politicians and move forward with industralisation without forcefull land aquisition.
Hope 5: May the administration and hatchery owers be more careful about avian disease which not only results in lot of financial loss but also jeopardize an important member of bengali cuisine.
Hope 6: May the crude oil price stabilise so that growth in the gulf countries surges.
Hope 7: May the new technology of 3G finds large number of enthusiastic subscribers in India and contribute to the growth of telcos.
Hope 8: May the new leader of the world's strongest economy lead his country and rest of the world towards the end of economic slump with his "Yes we can" attitude.
Hope 9: May Nano find its way to Indian roads and heart of Indians.
Hope 10: May myself and my family stay in good health to see the end of year 2009.

Apprehensions:
  • Indian government and police will still not be equipped to combat terrorism.
  • Tainted politicians will still win the elections with muscle and money power.
  • Directionless and headless opposion will continue to plague West Bengal's future.
  • High price of 3G technology will keep away potential users.
  • This may be the begining of loss of lustre & shine of middle east.
  • Obama may emerge as a man of all promises with no actions.

Driving License in Dubai

I finally got my driving license on 2nd September 2008. On 31st August I cleared the final road test after several attempts. Getting driving license in Dubai is a hard task as the RTA examiners are very strict in following rules and regulation. Also process is very expensive. Nevertheless, now I'm very happy and I am looking forward to buy my first car. Just for information, one cannot buy a car if he doesn't posses a driver's license in UAE. I have given the details on how to get a driving license and shared my experience here.

Never thought of blogging

As it says, there is always a start for everything. I had never thought that I will start blogging. I have been hooked to internet from 1997 when the concept of blog was not there and gradually I have seen the growth of this concept and technological development. Still I was never attracted to it and one day I got a scrap in my Orkut scrapbook from a friend of mine asking if I had blog so that he can know what's going in my life. I was very surprised, and it pushed me towards blogging. Them came the oppertunity when I was away from my family due to some reason I strarted blogging as a timepass. I felt very happy.
